Children love to listen to dinosaur stories for kids. Visit any children's library or bookstore, and you will find at least a few picture books that feature stories about dinosaurs. Whether it's a book about a tyrannosaurus rex, a brontosaurus, or some other ancient reptile, kids gobble up books that feature these types of characters.
A popular series featuring these extinct animals include the How Do Dinosaurs series by Jane Yolen. Some of the books in this series include How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? and How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You. There are other books in this series as well. The books are illustrated by Mark Teague and are whimsical and humorous.
Another book that is a wonderful one to add to your child's bookshelf is the book Can I Have a Stegosaurus, Mom? Can I? Please? by Lois Grambling. Grambling has written other picture books on the same theme involving a tyrannosaurus rex and a pterodactyl. In these books, the main character begs to be allowed to have a dinosaur for a pet. The main character in each book explains all of the benefits of having such an exotic pet.
If your child loves books about those scaly, extinct creatures that terrorized the world millions of years ago, get your hands on some picture books that feature dinosaurs. They will love reading these stories about giant lizards in a fun, colorful format.
